The A-Squad guide

These are the longer reads: the pieces we wanted to write once, properly, instead of answering the same question one scoreboard at a time. Some explain what the game is doing when it hands you a record. Some are just hockey: how the league changed from 1917 to now, and why a Nordiques season and an Avalanche season are not the same thing. You do not need to have played to read them, and you do not need to read them to play.

Everything here is written by A-Squad and kept current with the game. When a rule or a number changes, the article changes with it, and the “Updated” month at the top of each piece says when that last happened. If something reads wrong or out of date, tell us at the address on the contact page.
